Welcome to my blog!

Welcome to my new blog. This is my first attempt to
build and maintain my own little piece of the
blogosphere. A few of you might have seen my
Dayton Daily
News blog, Air
City, or my Air City
Hangar blog on myspace.com. They were all
set up for me, and blogging was easy. But this will
be the new home for my personal blog, because I'm
retiring from the newspaper in — geez, just over a
month!
What's new with me? It's the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2006, and I'm still recovering from the five-mile Turkey Trot race through the middle of my town. It was a gorgeous day — crisp, clear, and crowded with thousands of people intent on earning their Thanksgiving Day calories. I debated whether to enter; I bicycled a lot this summer, but I wasn't doing much running. I'd hurt my right Achilles tendon a few days earlier, so I knew I would probably re-injure it. I was right! But it was still a great race. How did I do? I have no idea — awful, I'm sure, but I just run for fun. Anybody for the Jingle Bell Run?
